We've all had that moment when we're in tears over the death of our favorite character either on-page or screen. Or we've been yelling at them not to make that choice. But after the fact, the characters stay dead and still make that bad choice....what if they didn't though?
Lightbulb: Now you are in control over a character's fate. Pick any favorite character from any fandom; books, novels, movies, TV shows, series, etc. Go back to that moment, just before Frodo decides to let Gollum tag along, or before Woody decides what he thinks about Buzz...what will happen next? How will Frodo and Sam make it to Mt. Doom? How will Woody and Buzz get along with each other?
Make this as long or short as you want, it's up to you, just as the choice of character is. Be sure to ask yourself important questions like "If she were rescued, how would they survive running from the enemy", etc. You get the point. I only ask that your "Twist in Fate" story be posted in the Fan-Fiction group. Here's the link to my piece inspired by this prompt. As always, happy lighting!
