When Katherine and Savanna first started out to create Light in late 2020, they did so with the hopes of making a website for young Christian writers where they could write about their faith without being criticized or censored (as both Savanna and Katherine were).
Now, in 2023, almost 2024, they are happy to see that they have done what they set out to do. Light hosts over eighty lighters (writers), both Christian and non-Christian alike, it has held multiple events--even a writing workshop!--and the gals try to regularly post light bulbs (prompts) and Writer Highlights (interviews with site members).
With God's and Wix's help (because Katherine and Savanna are not as technically inclined as they could wish) Light has become more than they could have dreamed! However, as you lighters have probably noticed, Light has been pretty quiet of late.
The girls won't make excuses for themselves, because people younger and busier than them have maintained businesses, etc. with much more productivity than they have. But they realize that they need to make some changes. They need to be consistent in posting two prompts a month, one Writer Highlight a month, preparing for events every few months (such as our wonderful Secret Lighters! :D), monitoring the site weekly, and having team meetings with the other "admins" and "moderators" whom they have instilled of late.
Yes, they wish to make some changes and will do their best to bring Light "up to snuff." But as they meet and work and write, they ask for your participation in bringing about changes; they ask for your prayers in the coming decision-making.
So, what will 2024 bring for Light and more importantly, you lighters? God really only knows, but Katherine and Savanna will do their best to keep you posted on all that's happening here on Light.
