Dragons, griffins, centaurs, unicorns, aliens. . . We’ve all seen those in fantasy, haven’t we? What about dinosaur centaurs? Dragon-men? Creatures who look entirely human, but have natural super-senses? Have you ever heard of those?
Light-Bulb: Create a new species of sentient (has a mind/soul like a human) or non-sentient (more like an animal) creature. Combine two or more animals together, or give a human character or people group animal features such as ears, horns, wings, tails, and claws. Do whatever you want! (Just don’t make it too creepy.)
Specifics: Go to "Light-er Hub," and press "Create New Post," then "Start a Discussion." There are many things you could write about your creature! Is there only one, or are there more? What is their relationship with humans, if they even know humans exist?
Or write it from the humans’ perspective. Perhaps you are an adventurer who stumbled upon a group of these creatures. Or you are studying their fossils and remark that they look nothing like any animal you’ve seen before. Or maybe you’re an astronaut who found a new species on a distant planet. I took the idea of dragon/humanoid and ran with it in a fanfic here!
